Happy New Year & Happy Kwanzaa!
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful and joyful winter break. It is wonderful to see our Wolves refreshed and ready to jump back into learning. We're excited for a fresh start and all the new discoveries January will bring!
January is Kindergarten Registration Month at the District School Board of Niagara. Is your child or do you know of a child that was born in 2022 or turning 4 in 2026? If so click on the following link to get more information on how to register your child! Click here for more information https://www.dsbn.org/kindergarten/
Classroom & Home Reminders:
- Winter Attire: January often brings our coldest weather. Please ensure your child comes to school prepared for outdoor recess with warm coats, hats, gloves/mittens, and scarves. Layering is key!
- Hydration: Even when it's cold, staying hydrated is important for focus and health. Please continue to send a reusable water bottle daily.
- Routine Reset: After the holidays, getting back into a consistent school routine can take a little time. Encouraging regular bedtimes and morning routines at home will be a great help!
- Illness: Please remember to keep you child home from school if there has been vomitting or gastrointestinal issues. The rule of thumb is 24 hours free from vomiting, and 48 hours for gastro bugs.
An update to make you aware of: Mrs. Della Manna has moved on to a new school beginning January 5th. We wish her all the best at her new school. Ms. Kristy Binkley will be filling in temporarily.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we embark on the second half of our school year. Your support makes a significant difference! Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns. Here's to a fantastic January!
Warmly,
Ms. Smith
Dear Woodland Families,
I am thrilled to be the new Principal at Woodland P.S. We are excited and ready to welcome our new and returning Wolves back to school on Tuesday, September 2nd! A new school year is always an exciting time for everyone!
A heartfelt thank you to our teachers, custodial staff, and secretary for all their preparation and hard work. Their efforts make it possible for our students to walk into safe, caring, and well-prepared classrooms on the first day of school.
Please take a few moments to read the information below about school policies and procedures, as there are some changes this year.
As always, please know that I am here to listen to your concerns and questions, and we will work through them together to ensure Woodland Public School is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment for all.
You can reach us by calling the school or emailing me at jennifer.smith@dsbn.org. We do our absolute best to respond within 24 hours, though please note that we do not reply on weeknights, weekends or holidays. For ongoing updates, visit dsbn.org or follow DSBN on social media.
